False Choice Narratives Are Anti-Asian

The no cash bail position had a seemingly innocent pitch to level the playing field between rich and poor, but the outcome is clear. A signal was sent that committing a crime would be tolerated in the name of justice. Characteristics are inserted into a formula to determine who the true victims and perpetrators are. I was against hate crime enhancements when first proposed. I sensed it would lead to bad results reaching into impermissible First Amendment territory. But I never envisioned what it became. Physical crimes with the correct thoughts/variables can be excused while wrong thoughts with no physical crime can be punished. A society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable. We are failing in this regard. As to Asians and education, kids of well-to-do Asian parents, or those deemed Tiger Moms, will always succeed. And good for them. Go for it. I know my country is made better by those succeeding. But I am already encountering Asian kids not in this category getting left behind to flatten the outcome. It is a terrible scapegoating of innocent kids by predatory adults.
